Issy did …

After graduating from architecture school Issy joined his father in the family business building houses and small apartments. It was fun and interesting.

Then one day Issy started thinking about building a hotel. He liked the idea because it was a challenge … a hotel was much more active than a house … plus he could leverage his skills as architect in a different way.

So Issy started pitching his idea … and knocking on door after door. It took awhile but Issy didn’t give up.

Finally, he opened his hotel … a 125 room motor inn in downtown Toronto. Two years later he opened a second one.

Issy had simply hoped to sell off the hotels when inspiration struck. While in England staying at a famous hotel Issy was impressed with how the hotels that were generations old had a very high service level. “Maybe that he should do the same with his hotels back home”, he thought.

So from then on his hotels strived to be the very top in everything they do everyday.

Today the hotel chain Issy started with a little motel in Toronto now has grown to 90 locations in 36 countries … and is synonymis with excellent customer service. Four Seasons.

Four Seasons is a great idea because treating people the way you’d like to be treated is good business whatever the season.
