Where There Is Smoke …

Duane did.

Duane’s life was going up in flames … or so he thought. You see Duane was heating and air conditioning sales engineer who had started his own company. He’d worked for Honeywell for many years but now was on his own … and he had a massive problem on his hands … a product he called the static neutralizer … which essentially was an ion generator wasn’t working … and with Duane taking out a mortgage on his home to finance the development of it the company’s future could be in serious trouble … so Duane and a technician worked late into the night smoking cigarettes and tinkering with it through battery of tests … the readings on the device made no sense as everytime the technician literally breathed the device would go crazy .. it was really weird … and that’s when Duane put 2 and 2 together … and both solved the problem with static neutralizer and had a great idea for a totally new, relatively inexpensive product. A product which would take him another 10 years to get just right.

Today, Duane’s invention is virtually in every home across North America … and has saved a countless number of lives … and all because his chain-smoking technician kept breathing on the ion generator. The Smoke Detector

The Smoke Detector is a great idea … because smelling an opportunity and acting on it can literally change the world.
