Kevin did.
Kevin loved playing football and he was good at it. Good enough to play college ball but not quite good enough to make the NFL. One day, during a game near the end of his college career, as he was changing his sweat-soaked t-shirt underneath his jersey for the umpteenth time …. Kevin wondered why someone hadn’t come up with a better T-shirt … and then Kevin realized there might be a great idea under there .… so, he made up some of his own t-shirts using the material found in the compression shorts the players already wore … and the shirts worked great … While Kevin had full confidence in his idea his family wasn’t as enarmoured … well Kevin started to sell the shirts but didn’t have much money to advertise. So instead of seeking star player endorsements, he targeted tam equipment managers telling them all about the merits of his shirts … It took a while but Kevin finally made his first big sale to Georgia Tech … for $17,000. And it just took off from there.
Today, over twenty years later, the company Kevin started because he got tired of changing his sweat-soaked t-shirt several times a game … now sells over $4 billion a year in performance apparel. Under Armour
