Earle did.
Earle loved his wife Josephine … and Josephine loved Earle. Earle worked at Johnson and Johnson buying cotton .. while Josephine worked at home. Life was great except for one tiny problem. Josephine was always cutting and scraping her hands doing housework. It frustrated Josephine and it bothered Earle immensely as he was always coming to her aid.
One day after yet another incident Earle suddenly had an idea … so he made up a prototype and tried it on his wife .. and it worked. Then he told his boss Mr. Johnson about the idea … Mr. Johnson loved it ... and soon the company launched Earle’s new product … but it was a resounding failure … sales were worse than awful and there was no covering up this fiasco … but Earle, Mr Johnson and the company banded together and stuck to it. 4 years later after they built a machine to package and sell sterilized versions of the product, they were out of the red and on their way … and Mr. Johnson made Earle Vice-President.
Today, the invention Earl created when helping his wife at home has sold over 100 billion units for Johnson & Johnson, and you probably have some in your house right now – Band-Aids
