Scruples!

Judy did.

Judy grew up in New York City … as part of a family that was well-off and had scruples … so Judy ended up at Wellesley College with three goals in mind: to date, to read every novel in the library, and to graduate. Well dating was no problem as she set a dorm record for 13 consecutive dates with 13 different guys. But her grades suffered as a result … despite taking a course on writing short stories that she enjoyed .. her spelling was atrocious, and she was embarrassed but nevertheless Judy graduated and ended up working writing all types of journalistic articles for magazines.

Well flash forward 30 years and Judy was now 50 … her husband wanted to take flying lessons … and Judy, despite having a fear of flying decided to conquer that fear and joined him … well that’s when Judy had a great idea and decided to tackle other things that scared her … namely, writing a novel … having not written any fiction at all since that short story course 30 years earlier …. Well it took nine months, but she finished her first novel … then she shopped it around … the rest is history.

Today, 40 years later, Judy’s ten novels which she started only writing at age 50, have sold a staggering 80 million copies worldwide and you know her work by her name more than the titles of her books. And all because she chose to conquer her fear of writing fiction. Judith Krantz
