Karen and Mark did.

Karen and Mark were living a lush life in Vancouver. They met when Mark worked for his family’s financial securities company and Karen was a brokers’ assistant. Soon they were married … and all was good until Karen lost her job and she was unsure what to do next. Well, the couple went on vacation to England and were having a great time when one day they were walking down a street and saw an enormous line stretching all the way down the block from outside a little store … not even knowing what it was they lined up too .. and once inside immediately fell in love with the wonderful and luscious colours, smells, and overall vibe. Karen knew instantly she wanted to open a store in Vancouver … and the owners said no .. they wanted to stick with simple stores weren’t excited about expanding … well Karen wouldn’t take no for an answer … it took multiple trips but finally Karen and Mark convinced the owners and gained the rights to North America. They originally intended to open just a few stores … but people in Vancouver responded so positively they opened a few more … and then a few more.

Today, 20 years later, the retail store chain Karen and Mark have built out across North America after accidently stumbling across the original store in England, now has over 250 outlets and generates almost $500 million in sales annually... Lush
