Robert did.

Life was anything but a party for Robert … he was just always working … at 18 he started with his dad’s company which made disposable paper products like those conical cups that would be dispensed next to water coolers. It wasn’t glamourous but it was successful.

Well, after 25 years Robert had tried most jobs at the company had helped launched a whole bunch of new plastic items.

One day Robert was thinking about possible products for family picnics … he wanted something stackable, durable and simple … and he came up with it.

It was an immediate hit … but not just not with picnickers … with everyone.

Robert’s company had a monster on their hands … within just a few years the product became ubiquitous and helped drive company sales into the billions of dollars.

Today, forty years later, the plastic cup that Robert invented can be found virtually everywhere .. at music festivals, home parties, and at picnics …and its now in the permanent display on design at the Museum of Modern Art in New York plus its even been the subject of a hit song by Toby Keith … The Red Solo Cup
