Roger and Lesley did.
Roger and Lesley lived in Melbourne, Australia … and together with a friend they decided to open a bakery … now this was nothing new for Roger as he was a cunning old fourth generation baker. However they decided they wanted to do things a bit differently… it was to be a Celebration of Bread and they especially wanted to delight every customer with every product that came out of the oven … so it is no surprise that they chose to name their store Baker’s Delight … well things went well right from the start .. soon they added another store and then another and before long they were making a lot of dough.
Fast forward 23 years … and Baker’s Delight wanted to set up shop in Canada … the only problem was the name was already trademarked .. so they had to come up with a new name, just for Canada… and that’s what they did based on their original vision and what you might call Roger.
Today, there are over 700 Baker’s Delight stores around the world, including 90 locations right here in Canada .. and depending on who you ask its named for the Celebration of Bread or that cunning old baker Roger … COBS Bakery.
