Light It Up

Ron did.

Ron lived in Cincinatti where he worked as director of research and new product development for Kenner Products … his job was to come up with new toys the company could sell … it’s not as easy as you might think ... and lot of ideas just never see the light of day.

One day a salesman returned from a trip to New York city … and wondered aloud whether Kenner could create a toy version of the vendor carts seen on street corners there … well that got Ron thinking … and the light went on … so Ron tried several ideas at home with his wife and then together with Kenner engineers they came up with a working concept. The resulting toy they cooked up was simple, safe but most of all fun to use.

So they launched it … and it became a massive hit.

Today, over 50 years later the iconic toy Ron and his team at Kenner created is in the toy hall of fame .. having sold over 23 million units … and ask virtually any woman of certain age who’ll tell you they had one or badly wanted one … the Easy Bake Oven

The Easy Bake Oven is a great idea because when the light goes on … just put in the right ingredients and you could bake up something delicious!
