It’s All Downhill From Here

Franz did.

The idea sounded crazy but made perfect sense to Franz … build a special attraction on London Mountain near a place called Alpha Lake .. a place in the middle of nowhere with no paved roads.

Now most people wouldn’t try it but Franz was keen. He lived an hour away in a beautiful town but had grown bored and restless. He needed a fresh challenge and this was it.

So he and his friends set about rounding up investors and got to work … there were unbelievable challenges .. it could have all gone downhill … but after 5 years the attraction on London Mountain opened to great reviews and started charming people from all over who wanted to live nearby. So a new town was established.

Then Just 7 years after opening, in 1973, the city of Denver was bailing on their upcoming Winter Olympics .. and because Franz and his friends had done such a good job building the attraction on London Mountain the IOC called up and said do you want Winter Olympics? Well the town did of course but had to turn it down for whole bunch of reasons … but it was good PR nonetheless.

Today, over 40 years later the town and attraction Franz and his friends built in the middle of nowhere and was once called London Mountain are now world renowned .. and a major year round tourist attraction known by a single word … Whistler

Whistler is a great idea … because sometimes the best ideas literally start in the middle of nowhere.
