Offer did …

Offer was born in Israel and a born entertainer … after moving to the US and trying many different things, even selling products at swap meets, he settled on becoming a comedian … he wrote, developed and starred in his own movie under his stage name Vince Offer … unfortunately the movie did not do well and Offer eventually went bankrupt. So he went back to selling stuff at swap meets to both support himself and to raise money for his film.

While watching late night television Offer realized he could sell his movie through infomercials … so that’s what he did and went on to sell over 50,000 copies.

Now many people might stop there … but not Offer, he realised he should maybe try marketing something a bit more mainstream. Leveraging his newfound infomercial success, his comedic skills, and experience selling vegetable choppers, Offer settled on a simple product that took its name from French word for a cloth rag … “Chamois”.

Today, Offer’s Shammy is one of the most successful products ever sold on television … the ShamWow, which Vince both pitches and owns.
