Tessema did.

Tessema had just $500 to his name. He was from a well-established Ethiopian family but the revolution there had stripped his family of all their wealth.

Now Tessema was living alone in San Francisco, attending college and studying industrial design. At night he drove a cab to make ends meet.

One day he was working on a student project designing a new ergonomic chair. It was an exercise in frustration. Flexibility was an issue and he tried bending some rods to fix the problem … and that’s when inspiration struck. He bowed out of the student project and jumped right in to creating a whole new product all together.

Then he patented his idea and took it to several specialists who manufactured and sold similar products … none thought much of Tessema’ idea and they all passed on it.

So Tessema did what most entrepreneurs do … he decided to market the machine himself … relying on television infomercials to show potential customers the benefits of using his products.

Today, millions of Tessema’s machines worth billions of dollars have been sold worldwide helping people get in better shape … the Bowflex.

The Bowflex is a great idea … because creating a healthy business often requires strength and flexibility.
