Paul did …

Paul wanted to do something big and not just motor along thru life. He and a partner started a storage battery company but it went bankrupt. They tried again and it went bankrupt again.

Not giving up, and encouraged by a major department store buyer, Paul went to the bankruptcy auction and bought back the special battery they had been developing and started out for a third time.

Finally things were working right but Paul wanted to diversify and started looking for something that could leverage his battery expertise.

To that point there were virtually no car radios … they had to be custom installed and were very expensive … Paul’s vision? Mass produce affordable car radios. So they built a prototype and installed it in Paul’s car … then he drove it 800 miles to a major sales convention … but having no money for a booth or marketing he just parked outside and turned up the radio real loud.

Not only did he attract attention he attracted lots of orders.

Today, Paul’s companies are well known for all types of communication gadgets … and are still named after the initial car radio product ... which stands for “sound in motion” … Motor ola.

Motorola is a Great Idea because while it may sound simple, its takes lots of drive and energy to make things work well.
