A Mall Bet

Sam did …

Sam loved the neighbourhood where he grew up. When he was just five, using his little wagon, he’d sell ice to appreciative neighbours and earn badly needed cash for his family. Before long Sam was delivering prescriptions and helping run the family grocery store. By the time Sam was an adult his knack for business, strong work ethic and focus on quality had him building apartments, hotels and even his own casino.

One day Sam came across a dilapidated three storey building on a run down block in downtown Calgary … it was perfect … for a new casino. Sam bought it and was ready to start work when he got a call. The local community was worried the casino would destroy their unique neighbourhood. Now Sam, remembering how important his neighbourhood had been to him, realised if they didn’t want it, he couldn’t build it.

That’s when inspiration struck. Sam decided to build a shopping mall instead … but not just any mall … one that would reflect the unique community and neighbourhood and attract people from all over Calgary.

Well Sam’s mall at the corner of 4th ave and Centre St was a big hit … dramatically revitalizing the community and surrounding areas … and led Sam to be White Hatted as Citizen of the Year. The building? Dragon City Mall.

Dragon City Mall is a great idea because working together with your neighbours is often a sure bet.
